FAQ and Answers
Q: How much does camp cost?
A: The prices for 2008 – $25.00 per person at camp for full use of the camp. The minimum number is 50. Kitchen and cleanup charges are noted in the contract. For day use, there is a charge of $5.00 per person, 50 person minimum.
Q: Do you accept group functions for lunch or/and evening BBQ?
A: Rotary’s Camp Florida’s mission is to serve our population of not for profit organizations trying to aid and assist special needs children and adults. On a space and time available basis, we do make the camp available for other groups during the spring and winter months. This may be for a day basis or an overnight basis.
Q: Who is responsible for the meals?
A: Camp does not provide food or cooks. The use of the fully equipped kitchen and do their groups meals. The kitchen use fee is $50 per day. Many of the groups use BRASS BELL caterers. They bring in the meals (Associated with Golden Corral. You contact them directly to pick menus specialized for special diets.)
Q: Can my Rotary Club get a speaker to come and fill us in on camp?
A: Certainly. Just contact us and we will work with you to have a speaker available.
Q: Do you have scout projects at camp? A: We have been privileged to the beneficiary of numerous Eagle Scout final projects. Both the Camp and the Scout are enriched by the experience. We also have Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, and ROTACT volunteers, and other fine groups who help.
Q: May I volunteer at camp?
A: We can have volunteers here when the children are not on the grounds. You may also volunteer for times when children are present if you have been screened and hired by the not for profit group coming in to use camp. Weekdays during the winter and even other times of the year, evenings, etc. we need hands for gardening, painting, and fixing small repairs, and general work. Unfortunately, we cannot have ANY VOLUNTEERS during camper times.
Q: Are donations to camp tax deductible?
A. Yes we are a federally registered 501C3 corporation. All donations to camp are completely tax deductible. receipts are issued to all donors of money, for donations-in-kind, as well as supplies donated to camp.
