Rotary Club of Tampa Raises over 40 thousand for Rotary’s Camp Florida, Brandon at their Inaugural Legacy Golf Tournament
Donation supports inclusive camp experiences for children and adults with disabilities
Brandon, FL, December 15, 2025. The Rotary Club of Tampa presented a donation to Rotary’s Camp Florida, proceeds from their 1st Annual Legacy Golf Tournament at Carrollwood Country Club led by Rotary Club of Tampa’s President Connie Gage, long time businesswoman and philanthropist in the Tampa Bay area with close ties to Brandon. Connie is also a very active member of Rotary’s Camp Florida. The donation was made in Brandon, at the Camp with other affiliates seen in the photo attached. This gift represents the largest gift received by a Rotary Club in 2025.
Connie’s “Can Do” spirit and her enthusiastic team of Rotarians saw the need and set a plan of action and made it a reality. So much so, the Rotary Club of Tampa will host its 2 nd Annual Legacy Tournament of Champions April 20, 2026 Carrollwood Country Club.
Connie is a third generation South Tampa native, graduating from Plant High School and attended Florida State University. Connie has been in the Real Estate industry for 19 years, serving the Tampa Bay area in both Residential and Commercial Sales. Providing “Concierge real estate services”, making sure to see both sides of the transaction through until closing. The smallest detail that is missed can be the biggest mistake! Connie also has vast knowledge in the Commercial real estate industry, locating Early Learning Childcare sites, as well as retail development and leasing. First time homebuyers will be well educated in going through this process because it is very important that any buyer or seller understand every step of the way.
Connie volunteers extensively in the community, serving a second term as Chairman of the Board for the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce as well as a Chamber Ambassador, Membership Chair for the FRIENDS of the Tampa Museum of Art, Past President of LAMPLighters of Tampa Bay, member of the Rotary Club of Tampa, Past President of All Children’s Hospital Guild, former Metropolitan Ministries Board Member , past Honorary Mayor of Brandon and received the Rotary Club of Tampa’s “Rotarian of the Year” award in 2022.
In 2026, the Rotary Club of Tampa’s goal is to double the revenue generated through the Legacy Golf Tournament to fully fund the reconstruction of Camp Florida’s Infirmary. This critical facility supports campers requiring IV therapy and specialized medical care and must be maintained at the highest standard to ensure the safety and well-being of children and adults with special needs. Achieving this goal requires expanding community awareness, increasing sponsorship and donor engagement and clearly communicating Camp Florida’s importance to our broader community.
The Rotary Club of Tampa has donated consecutively, and their generosity has helped the camp with much needed capital improvement including new AC units to other much needed capital equipment for our clean air act.
